Photographing Your Artwork
Aug 28th

Many artist and craftspeople struggle with photographing their work. I, myself, am often perplexed by poor lighting and positioning of the piece. Relax! There are many articles and tutorials online that can help guide you through taking better photographs as well as setting up an inexpensive photography booth.
Etsy.com offers a number of articles on photographing your work. This article, Shop Makeover Series: Photographing for Success, by contrary on Etsy gives general tips for photographing your work/product. Another article, How-to Photograph Jewelry: Get the Basics with Vadjutka, by Vadjutka on Etsy talked specifically about photographing jewelry. Great articles!
For tips on setting up your own Light Box, check out this wonderful tutorial at Studio Lighting. The tutorial offers great step-by-step instructions and pictures of the steps. Then, if your more into the video tutorials, here’s a great YouTube video by ProPhotoLife walking you through getting your lighting just right!
There are many, many other videos and tutorials online. I hope you find these helpful and happy photographing!

T-shirt Refashion
Aug 20th
So I’m switching gears a bit from jewelry making and furniture redos to sewing! I found this tutorial on CraftStylish for refashioning a t-shirt into a halter. SUPER easy and fun! My kind of project.

Before (kinda)
So I found this cool t-shirt at a thrift store for 2 bucks. Sorry, I kinda got started on the refashion before remembering to take pictures. Oops!

After
Ta-Da! Much cooler I think. Don’t you?! Linda’s video tutorial was so wonderful and super easy to follow. I’ll certainly be making more of these.

Vacation!
Aug 3rd

Yay! We are here in Nags Head soaking up some rays. Thank God for a smooth trip down here yesterday. Now, if we could just get Mother Nature to cooperate with the weather. But…we’re still making the most of our special time together and enjoying every moment!
I hope you are having a wonderful start to your week too.
