A few months ago a friend took me to Carvatti’s Architectural Salvage for a look-see.  I knew this was a place Tim would really dig so, as a birthday adventure to celebrate my birthday, I took him to check it out!

Sea of Fireplace mantels-Carvatti’s

Much of Richmond was still without electricity from Hurricane Irene and Carvatti’s was no exception.  That didn’t stop us from weaving our way through the maze of old doors and columns though.  We also found tons of gorgeous antique mantels.

Fireplace with layered paint-Carvatti’s

I mean seriously, can you imagine the stories these layers and layers of paint could tell?!

Pedestal Sinks-Carvatti’s

And a sea of pedestal sinks just waiting to be reused.

Vent Cover-Carvatti’s

Not quite sure what this is (some type of vent?) but I just thought the flaking paint and wood tones were spectacular!  It would make a great wall piece as-is.  Pure art!

Fabric Cabinet-Carvatti’s

And this cabinet!!!  Oh my goodness.  I can just imagine it full of fabulous fabrics, dyes, threads and yarns.  Yes, that’s the textile geek in me coming out! ;)

Lots of things to explore and discover.  So if you have a chance to venture out to Carvatti’s you really should check it out.  It will not disappoint.

Happy adventuring!
